Envisioned by HH the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Qasr Al Watan Library aims to preserve and share centuries of Arabian knowledge and culture with the world. Featuring a collection of 50,000 books from various ages of Arabian scholarship, the Palace library is an expansive space where history and knowledge help inspire and mold the future.
Qasr Al Watan Library welcomes all age groups.
Library hours are 11:00am to 4:30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Qasr Al Watan Abu Dhabi Public Library
The Qasr Al Watan Library is a portal to a universe of learning and reading pleasure. As the foremost public library in Abu Dhabi, it was established to enrich the knowledge economy and invest in the minds of the people.
Its thoughtfully designed interiors deliver an atmosphere conducive to reading, research and writing. The library offers the following services:
- Books and reading materials curated for over 35 years, covering a vast range of subjects including history, the arts and humanities, socio-economic developments, memoirs and official documents on governance
- Internet access and the use of the facility’s computers and tablets
- Books loan for members
- Access to multimedia materials including audio-visual resources and digital files
- Community events such as panel discussions, learning camps and live cultural performances
- Guided library tours
Qasr Al Watan Library membership is open to all UAE residents and visitors via registration at the Department Of Culture & Tourism website.
